Our role is to support and further develop existing local businesses, and promote economic development opportunities to investors within and outside the region.
We’re also a vital link between industry and government; lobbying for improved regional infrastructure, and attracting major investment projects to benefit the local economy.
The Association auspices a number of initiatives including 2010 Powercor Wimmera Business Awards, Leadership
Wimmera, the Regional Skilled Migration Strategy and the Wimmera
Manufacturing & Industry Group.
Wimmera Development Association
The Wimmera Development Association is the first point of contact for strategic support if you are considering investing in the Wimmera Southern-Mallee region.
Through regular liaison with local industry and government leaders, we have an intricate knowledge of the state of the region’s economy, and opportunities for future growth within industry.
The Association also provides professional development programs to existing businesses in the region to help them strengthen and retain their workforce, grow and improve their operations, and tap into new business opportunities.
A vital link between industry and government, the Association consistently lobbies for improved regional infrastructure, and the attraction of major infrastructure projects to benefit the local economy.
Primarily funded by Horsham Rural City Council, West Wimmera Shire Council, Hindmarsh Shire Council and Yarriambiack Shire Council, the Association also receives funding from State Government to conduct a variety of programs to build the region.
We are also fortunate to have ACE Radio Broadcasters as a valued patron, and the generous support of Bendigo Bank and Powercor.
