Business Advisory
Service
The Business Advisory Service was
established by the Wimmera Development Association to
link major contractors working on the construction of
the Wimmera Mallee Pipeline Project with local goods
and services.
The initiative takes advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime
project that will build security into the region, not
only in terms of water supply, but to showcase the Wimmera
as a place to invest.
The Service provides a central, commercial and proactive
approach to business facilitation, exposing our region’s
businesses to tender opportunities, and offering them
a chance to develop the skills required for the pipeline’s
construction. This can lead to more long-term work such
as ongoing maintenance.
Supported by the Provincial Victoria Growth Fund
as part of the State Government’s New Investment
Partnership Program, the Business Advisory Service
is the first of its kind in Victoria to leverage new
investment from a major infrastructure project. The
funding was allocated in response to the Wimmera
Southern Mallee Drought Report 2007.
